AP Mailorder Combines eCommerce with Action Sports Networking

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWeb) December 13, 2006 -- These days it seems like social networking is bigger than ever and big corporations are not wasting anytime buying into these online goldmines. Why? Because they have proven to be successful beyond our wildest dreams with companies like Myspace and YouTube being sold for astronomical figures to News Corp and Google respectively.

With more and more people turning to the computer to get their information, to make purchases and to socialize, it makes sense to combine all three and that is exactly what the young start-up action sports social network, ActionProfiles.com aims to do.

ActionProfiles.com, the original action sports social network, pioneered a new way for riders to connect with companies starting back in August of 2005. Since then, "AP" has grown into a thriving networking community filled with Skateboarders to Motocrossers and the companies who are trying to connect to these talented riders. Now the aim for AP, is to try and promote the brands that have been supporting the growing website by selling their products through a unique online shop called AP Mailorder.

Steering clear of the trendy action sports retail scene, AP Mailorder is focusing on smaller brands that have helped support ActionProfiles.com over the past year. "By helping the smaller brands grow, they help the industry grow as a whole and I think it's such a great thing they are doing, it could really go far." Said Josh Buckhalter, owner of young Orange County surf brand, Notion Clothing out of Costa Mesa, California.

AP Mailorder focuses on rider-owned board sports brands, which include skateboarding, snowboarding and surfing. "I started with board sports first due to their high participation with ActionProfiles.com. We do have plans to expand our ecommerce presence into wakeboarding & wakeskating, bmx, mtb and motocross in 2007, but for now we will target what industries are backing us the most and that is skate/surf/snow for sure." said founder Brandon Winnie.

Growing up snowboarding in the winter and riding bikes during the summer, Winnie, 24, has always had a passion for action sports. "My dad was a huge skier back in the day and got me started skiing when I was 3 years old. I then learned how to snowboard when I was 12 and have been doing it ever since. I love to do as many action sports as I can whenever I have the time to." Winnie realized the need for an online store where people can actually buy some original stuff from original brands that are owned and operated by the riders.

Winnie says that AP Mailorder is always looking for young, fresh brands to grow it's online store. They will also be pushing bigger action sports brands for 2007. By doing this, they will be able to offer more variety and sell more products. Currently, AP Mailorder is being backed from a number of young successful brands including Skullcandy, Lucid Notion Snowboards, Bluebird Snowboard Wax, Illuminati Snowboards, Destructo Skateboard Trucks, Eesa, H2O Audio, Bern Helmets, BayVI, Imperial Motion, Elm Headwear and more.
